TINFED
California's electronic/modern rock quartet TINFED began as a noise/industrial metal band in Sacramento, CA in the early 90s. Formed by vocalist/guitarist/programmer Reykjavik Osburn Bigfeather and guitarist/programmer Eric Stenman. Influenced by the cacophony of Swans, and the sonic pulse of Big Black, Prong, and Killing Joke, they played alongside Deftones, Will Haven, and Far. They released two indie-label albums, 1994's Synaptic Hardware on Primitech Releases and 1996's Hypersonic Hyperphonic on Cargo Records imprint, Re-Constriction Records. The group would later incorporate drummer/percussionist Matt McCord, and bassist Rick Verrett; and change their sound to a more Electronica styled format. In the early 2000s, they signed to Third Rail/Hollywood Records, and they appeared on the Mission: Impossible 2 soundtrack with the fan favorite track "Immune". Their third album Tried + True, saw them tour with The Psychedelic Furs, Depeche Mode, Poe, and Buckcherry. The final years of the band, 2003-2007, would see Stenman leave the band for a career in music production; and the remaining members returned to its rawer format, and released Designated Rivals. During the year to record the final EP, Here Love Lies, Verrett would sign up for bass duties in Team Sleep, and Osburn Bigfeather would finally break away and return to more of his industrial roots with Death Valley High, after a brief stint with ghostride.
